Ben Jackson, the talented footballer hailing from our very own Spurley Hey, has emerged as a promising figure in the world of English football. Known for his pace and adept left foot, Ben possesses versatility, capable of operating effectively as a wide player in both defence and midfield.
His journey with Huddersfield Town Football Club began when he made his breakthrough into the Under-18 side as a schoolboy, showcasing his potential with a goal in seven starts and three substitute appearances during the 2016/17 season. Throughout the 2017/18 campaign, Ben primarily featured at left-back for the Under-18s, assuming a leadership role within the squad.
During the 2018/19 season, Ben continued his development, amassing 38 appearances and finding the net twice for the Under-19s. This period also marked his initiation into senior football, with loan spells, notably at his hometown club Stockport County, where he became a regular fixture in the team, earning accolades for his contributions.
His loan stint at Bolton Wanderers in the latter half of the 2020/21 season was particularly fruitful, with Ben's memorable goal against Morecambe aiding the Wanderers in securing automatic promotion to League One.
In August 2021, Ben extended his commitment to Huddersfield Town, signing a new contract that binds him to the club until the summer of 2024, with the option of a further year's extension.
Continuing his quest for experience and growth, Ben embarked on another loan spell in the latter half of the 2021/22 campaign, this time joining Doncaster Rovers in Sky Bet League One. Despite his commendable efforts, Doncaster Rovers faced the disappointment of relegation, falling short of safety by a mere two points, despite Ben's 15 appearances at left-back.
Everyone at Spurley hey is proud of you Ben
